The celebrations of the National Team will move to Santiago del Estero, and probably in a few months – already in matches for points, for the Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup – to other Argentine provinces. The government of that province promises an even bigger party than the one at the Monumental, with a light and sound show, performances by La Mosca, la T y la M and numerous local artists, and the national anthem performed by Los Manseros Santiagueños , Las Mulieris and Nestor Garnica.
After yesterday’s tribute at the Ezeiza stadium, renamed Lionel Andrés Messi, and the talk of the squad with the presidents of the League clubs, the National Team will have free time today and will travel to Luque, Paraguay tomorrow, where Conmebol will render another tribute.
The president of South American football, Alejandro Domínguez, wants to show his homage to the National Team and especially to Messi, a strong card that he can show so that, in 2024, FIFA votes in favor of the candidacy of Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile to organize the 2030 World Cup.
After this tribute, which will be given on the same day as the Copa Libertadores draw, the Argentine squad will travel to Santiago del Estero, where they will arrive around 9:00 p.m. They will arrive at the airport and immediately transfer to the Hilton Garden Inn hotel. According to what the local newspaper El Liberal published, they will do it in closed buses, in the middle of an operation in which not only the security forces of the province will participate, but also the Federal, Gendarmerie and municipal personnel.
For the day of the match against Curaçao there are two options, which will be evaluated according to what happens in the hours before. One is that the team travel from the hotel to the Madre de Ciudades stadium in closed buses. The other is to do it in an open-top bus –identical to the one used for the December festivities– so that people can see and greet the world champions.
